There’s nothing that feels as fresh and satisfying like a little spring clean. Give all your home’s trouble spots a quick refresh with pro tips. Listed below are all the most-important tasks both big and small, so whether you’ve got a whole weekend or just a spare moment, and the urge to freshen up after a cold winter we’ve got the how to.

Now that the weather is starting to look more appealing make sure your windows are clean so you can have the best view. Cleaning your windows on a cloudy day is best. If its too sunny your cleaning solution will dry too fast and you will be left with streaks.

Your sliding door tracks are probably not your first place you think to clean. But you’ll appreciate having it done before outdoor entertaining season brings and your jammed door is stopping you from getting outside.

Most of us are guilty of overlooking these surfaces daily. But once a year we should give our skirting boards, door frames and walls a good thorough clean. Wash them with a sponge and little dishwashing liquid and you will love the results.

What about your cleaning tools? You can’t really clean your homes without starting with clean tools.

Start small with your sponges. Fill the sponge with water pop it in the microwave for 2 minutes. Now you have quickly removed 99% of bacteria.

We should be cleaning our vacuums once a month, so they are performing at the optimum level. So, once a year if the bare minimum. Use a damp cloth and mild detergent to wipe any dirt from the unplugged device. Make sure you clean all the attachments and let them air dry completely before next use.

Sanitise your mops with vinegar. Start by rinsing the mop until the water runs clear. Then, place the mop into a bucket filled with 7-8 litres of water, followed by a cup of vinegar.

To clean your broom first you will need to bang it hard against a secure surface outside! Afterward, soak the broom in a bucket loaded with warm soapy water for about 30 minutes then rise off and let air dry.

Make sure your dishwasher is running cleanly, by placing a mug fill of vinegar or baking soda or both up right in the top rack of your dishwasher. Run it through a normal cycle.
