It’s that time of the year! Holidays are an exciting and relaxing time to share precious moments with your family and friends.

Grey Army Family Christmas

I’m sure we’ve all heard the kids in the family say ‘I’m bored!’. This can easily be avoided by thinking outside the box, finding fun and creative activities to entertain them for hours. To avoid the boredom and possible cost of school holidays, here are some great activities to do at home for school holidays!

Have a costume night. It’s easy to go about your normal night, eating dinner and playing games, and the costumes will add an added layer of fun. For extra fun and laughs, try to impersonate the character for the night.

Grey Army Garden campUse your backyard for a camp out.

Set up the tent and bring out your sleeping bags for a night under the stars. Bring your torches and tell stories.

Have a scavenger hunt indoors and outdoors. It could be a treasure hunt, where you make clues for where the next object is or the aim could be to collect a certain amount of items in a time limit, the choice is yours!

Start a small vegetable or plant garden. Choose a box or pot to plant some seeds and watch them grow. If your area is large enough, you might have some flowers or fruits and vegetables growing soon.

Film something with the family. Whether it’s a family talent show, cooking show, garden show, a wildlife show or a reality show, let your inner television personality come out. You are certain to have a lot of laughs while watching your family episode.

Hold a competition. A Lego building competition, a puzzle competition or a cooking competition, and see who really is the best.

Grey Army Fun in the poolGet outdoors.

There are so many possibilities for fun on a warm sunny day! A pool is a great option, have a water balloon fight, play games in the pool or play music and have a water party.

Whatever activities you choose to do these holidays, cherish the time with your family and friends! From the team at Grey Army, we wish you a safe and happy festive season!
